A new resource found

BYU - in conjunction with the LDS Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah - has begun the process of digitizing all of the family histories that have ever been donated to the Family History Library. The Zahniser red book is one of these histories... so the link to that history now points to the BYU digital library. The history is in pdf format - fully searchable. Enjoy!

Working links

When Geocities disappeared a while back, so did the functionality of all of my links to histories. I'm grateful to Google documents so that they can all be shared again.

Thanks also to my oldest daughter who asked if I could get it functioning again...

www.zahniser.org

A Zahniser website has been started at www.zahniser.org... Might be a great place to start looking (once their database gets up and running) if you're trying to link into the Zahniser line somewhere.

They Came from Germany

The Zahnisers came from Germany in the mid-1700s and settled in western Pennsylvania. Valentine and his wife, Juliana, left Moersheim, Germany for health reasons, but unfortunately, Valentine did not survive the trip to the new world. Zahniser descendants fought in the Revolutionary War and in the Civil War... and many continue to live in western Pennsylvania today.
